What Is the IB Diploma Programme?
International Baccalaureate is a program  of secondary education, which is popularly known as IB. this program is recognized internationally which happens to be a very distinctive feature. The curriculum of this program is standardized. This means that in whatever country you study IB you will get to learn from the same material. If the content of IB Is updated, which happens often it is therefore updated in every country. So just for an example if you happen to be studying in Germany, you will be learning the same thing in an IB course as what you would learn if you are enrolled in Canada. And because the course is updated frequently you will get to learn about all the newest discoveries of scientific relevance. Also, the test conducted in different time zones is all standardized. Therefore if you are receiving a test sitting in a language school in Austin at 11 am, a student sitting in Ottawa Canada would be given the same test at noon according to their time zone.

The IB program is structured to be completed in 2 years. The program caters to students which are between 16 to 19 years of age. So most of the schools usually prefer students to complete their 9 and 10 grades, meanwhile, they are also introduced to the IB stream in the slightest of format. They develop their abilities in IB over 2 years and then start a fully-fledged IB program for their 11 and 12 grade.

How is the program structured?
So this diploma program is structured in six group subjects for curriculum and the core, it comprises CAS which stands for creativity, activity, service, essay, and theory of knowledge (TOK). Students are asked to take six courses, at least one course from each subject group. Let us elaborate on the six subject groups which are known as Individuals and societies, Language acquisition, Studies in language and literature, Mathematics societies, Sciences, and arts. At a higher level, students are asked to opt for at least 3 subjects and a maximum of 4 while the remaining is catered at the standard level.
The availability of choice for the course and the levels, all depends on the school. Some of the best IB schools in Austin will have much larger choices to opt from in comparison to other schools with limited resources and funds.

Other than academics, what can my child hope to learn? Will my child be adequately prepared for post-secondary education?
There are tons of soft skills and essential life skills that a student will have the chance to acquire, other than the subject knowledge. Important skills like handling stress, ability to communicate effectively, learning the importance of time management are all experienced and every student has the chance to adopt them for the rest of their life. IB program has one of the strictest formats. All the assignments work and essay needs to be submitted well within time.  Even a day late and your assignment won’t be considered. So students get the chance to develop the characteristic which makes them punctual and always ready to complete their work well within the time frame.

As far as the matter of getting prepared for post-secondary education, students get the benefit of completing university-level topics and are already prepared for the enhanced university experience more effectively. They will get the credit point for having been completed a certain course at the university level. Another important and positive factor about this course comes with the fact that a student gets to experience the fast and pace learning of the university at the early stages. So when the student starts their university studies, they are already good enough to compete for the best.

Conclusion
The IB program could simply be termed as a very adventurous and essential program that lets a student attain a variety of skills at a very young age. It comes down to how much a student is ready to accept and learn because not every student would be able to cope up with the pressure of such a pace and vivid learning structure.
